Hello, my name is Marcela Dent, the cupcake artist behind Lily Cakes. In February 2022, after having a baby and going through the devastating coronavirus, returning to my old job having a two-month-old baby and an 8-year-old son was not an option. The dream of baking was always in my heart, and finding a photo online of a beautiful bouquet of buttercream flowers sparked that unstoppable desire to learn and develop a skill I never thought I would have. The dream soon became my passion, and my buttercream garden began to bloom beautifully with the unconditional support of my beloved husband Rob. Together, and with the hand of God, as faithful believers, we took a step of faith, and Lily Cakes was born. In the beautiful years since, and with the support of clients and friends since day one, we have managed to run a successful small business from our home under the Texas Cottage Food Law. I can say that my heart fills with joy when I think of the wonderful opportunities, moments, and special memories that Lily Cakes has allowed us to have with the incredible people we've come to know over the years. We do everything with love and as if it were for the Lord, and we've worked hard to fulfill my passion for offering a fresh, preservative-free baked product every week, using our own buttercream recipe, all made fresh, allowing us to create a unique and great-tasting product.
